 amazon is a multi purpose e commerce website which sells all sorts of things such as clothing , accessories , health and personal care

eBay is the same as in amazon that it sells all sorts of things  such as accessories , health and personal care

From a quick observation you can see that both have a lot of similarities ; their logos on the top left , with both having a search bar on the middle top of the screen, carts in top right. discounts are both in the middle of the screen

Differences: eBay has sign in top left . amazon has top right. eBay has a category system to find things easier. eBay has a sell option on the top left near the categories meanwhile amazon doesn't have that shown on the header.

The body of amazon shows items that you can purchase it even shows over deals on items. It also has an exclusive lightning deals that eBay does not show. The lightning deals are good since it shows how much time there is left for the deal , which makes potential customers want to buy an item that is heavily discounted and think that they made a huge deal on the item. However eBay has Todays deals , which will do the same thing as Amazons lightning deals but less effective since you do not know how much time it has left also some customers might think they have all day to buy the item so they will leave it for later ,which may cause them to forget completely which makes them lose the deal.

Both amazon and eBay have an about us section which tells the customer about the business they are buying from. However only eBay has a separate section to buying things on eBay and sell unlike Amazon where they only have the sell section. Amazon has a more defined section on how to pay in their  website compared to eBay , they even mention how you can buy items with gift cards which eBay does not show. They both mention the UK modern slavery statement however only amazon shows how covid affected them and how they fixed their problem, which eBay completely failed to mention
