Entity relationship diagram are a type of  flowchart that show how different data impact each other.

Entities are definable things in the diagram such as a person  or an item or even an event. typically shown as rectangles

Relationship is how the entities interact with each other in the entity relationship diagram typically are shown as diamonds

Attributes - are characteristics of a entity typically shown as a circle.

Cardinality- is the numerical value used to  show the relationship in-between  two values.

What are the benefits of Entity relationship diagrams?

• Simple to use
• visually descriptive- easy to process information in diagrams
• flexible
